OUR FIRST POKER RUN, APRIL 2011

Our first annual Poker Run was held on a cool and blustery day last April.   Riders met for breakfast and registration at the Three Ridges Depot and Deli.  With scoresheets in hand, riders covered 80 miles of spectacularly beautiful scenery making stops at Mountain View Market and at wayside overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway to draw cards for their hand.  The ride ended back at Devil's Backbone Brewery with a silent auction and  great food and music at the annual Oyster Festival at Devil's Backbone.  Prizes for best and worst poker hand were $250 and tickets to a Virginia Tech football game.

COME JOIN US ON MAY 6, 2012 FOR THIS YEAR's POKER RUN!  This year's 70 mile long motorcycle poker run will start at the Mountain View Market in Lowesville, pass by Crabtree Falls and along the Blue Ridge Parkway, with stops at the Montebello Market, Devil's Backbone, and Wild Wolf Brewing Company.  Enjoy a band and food back at the Mountain View at the end of the ride and turn in your scorecards for great prizes.  Click on the 'Upcoming: 2012 Poker Run' button in the left margin for more details.

ALL-DAY PANCAKE BREAKFAST - A HUGE SUCCESS

The Mountain View Market in Lowesville was the scene of our fabulously successful all-day Pancake Breakfast last fall on the first day of rifle hunting season.  An entrance ticket bought all you can eat pancakes, Virginia-made sausage and drinks.  All the food was donated by the wonderful owners of the Mountain View, Cathy and Julie Larson, who also did the cooking.  Diners received tickets for a drawing for prizes including hunting knives, turkey and ham, Virginia waterfowl duck print and stamp, wine, gift certificates, and much more.

ANOTHER BREKFAST COMING IN FALL 2012

We plan to repeat this event next fall, with an even bigger turn-out.  We're hoping to feature some terrific Virginia-made maple syrup this time.
